I bought an OEM style air dam from Top Flight. I tried to install it and it didn’t fit. Not like a minor fitment issue, it wasn’t even close. I had my mechanic check it and he confirmed that it didn’t fit. It’s labeled on the package to fit ‘73-‘79. Looks the the correct one. Any suggestions?
The engine runs at around 200-225 degrees on a warm day. It got a little hot after pushing it hard for multiple runs. It also really heats up if it idles for long periods. We’re going to check the thermostat too.

It seems that a high percentage of aftermarket parts don't fit or are defective. Runs almost 50% for me. I don't think Top Flight is going to come up with solution other than return and refund.
I put an air dams on a 68 and 71 and neither fit without modifications.

I’m sure you’re right, regarding Top Fight. It wasn’t like some moderate modifications would do the trick. It wasn't even close.
I took a look at that spoiler in the link you had three people gave perfect reviews that it fit perfect. I’m pretty sure that that’s not the whole spoiler that you have to have the extension that rivets to that. I could be wrong. Here’s an OEM installation comparing the two. https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...on-advice.html
On a humorous note although getting bad parts is never funny.Repro parts make me think of when I was a kid and the breakfast cereal boxes always had a picture of a great toy you could send away for. When it arrived it never lived up to the expectations I had of the picture on the box.

got any pics of how it doesn’t lineup?
The extensions were only used on certain L-82 cars with AC.

Its like those big thick juicy burgers restaurants advertise on TV, then you go buy one and it’s half the size.
@interpon is one of those the center piece of the 78 Pace Car front spoiler? It looks like the two sides bolt onto it (there's a photo at the Zip link, below, which is likely an ACI part).

I think that it’s probably the right part but the front apron might have been modified.
Not sure how to move forward. Many have said how essential it is to have an air dam for proper cooling. So far it’s been doing well. It does heat up with prolonged idling though. We’ll have to check the thermostat and either figure out a way to either make it fit or fabricate one.
