Default 1972 unknown burnt wires

I have a 72 convertible. I bought it with some problems. I have it running and driving. I found this plastic plug burned near the pass side exhaust in the rear of the engine compartment. Any thoughts? I have looked at the assembly manual and the wiring diagrams, but not much has come to me.
I tested them for power, no power with the car running.
thanks

On the 73 model year there is a plug with two wires below the brake master cylinder. The wires leaving the plastic 2 wire connector goes to the transmission for the back up light switch. You may need a wiring schematic and then determine the color of the wires. Not every year has the same color wires, or even the same routing or harness bundles.

That's probably the connector for the TCS (transmission controlled spark) Solenoid.

Are there 3 wires in that connector, and can you clean them enough to get the colors of the wires?

I'm not sure the reproduction solenoids require the correct 2 cell connector housing?
The reason the connector housing (melted one above) has the 2 slots the Male terminal of the solenoid has protruding tabs sticking up...
The idea was GM only wanted the connector installed to the solenoid one way, protruding tabs of the terminal aligned with the slots in the connector housing...
The correct connector housing is Delphi/Packard #2973407...
They are about 40 cents each but there is most likely a shipping fee...
The other 2 housings in my photo mean nothing to this post...
