Well I've ripped out that many motor mounts on my 77 I'd reckon I'm a bloody expert. This last time I installed morroso solid steel mounts.
How do you replace just the drivers side? The one that always gets torn.
You need to get under it. Not possible from the top.
I put mine on ramps, drive front wheels up on ramps.
perhaps you could come up with a creative way to get underneath without ramps. Like front wheels on a curb or something.
Then. You will need a small floor jack and a hunk of wood.
I just have one of those tiny little cheap floor jacks. The block of wood placed on the side of the oil pan. So you jack the engine on the side your working on. Basically just tilting it towards the other side. No you won't crush the oil pan. I've done this numerous times.
unbolt the 3 bolts to the engine block with a 9/16ths swivel socket and a long extension. And the motor mount to frame through bolt with normal socket and wrench. Jack that side of the engine up about an inch or so so you can snake the old mount out, and new one in place. Start those 3 mount to block bolts first. Just get em in a couple threads each. Then lower the engine until you can get the frame through bolt into place. Tighten the mount to block bolts. Tighten the mount to frame through bolt. Remove Jack.
Done.
I just did this a couple months ago. (AGAIN) . I'm in terrible physical condition. You shouldn't have any trouble.

You can probably do it without one of these. But it'll be a real pain.

It's all done from underneath. None of the motor mount hardware is easy to get to from above. There is a reason you need it on ramps, jackstands or a lift.
If you don't have ramps. Seriously, do yourself a favor and go buy some. Or borrow some from a neighbor.
On the drivers side you may need to loosen a couple bolts on the powersteering pump as well. As the rear bracket for the pump shares one of the motor mount to block bolts.
