Starting issue
So, my starter went bad and I replaced it with a mini starter.
1969 w/ manual transmission. Non-original 400 CID, and MSD ingnition.
I hooked everything up and went to start, and nothing, except a “click” sound coming from somewhere behind the dash.
To eliminate the clutch switch as a potential culprit I bypassed it. still nothing but a “click”.
The starter does engage and turn if I connect the starter main terminal & s terminal with a screwdriver.
Where does the wire to the s terminal come from?
Thoughts? All help is appreciated.

Pekka,
Something tells me "one" wire is on the wrong solenoid post.
Anytime a starter is to be removed, take a picture of the wiring AND label all wires with masking tape / Sharpie pen.
You won't remember which wire goes where, minutes later.
Member Peterbuilt has a picture of the correct solenoid wiring and might come along here soon.

The solenoid wire comes from the clutch safety switch which gets its power from the ignition switch when starting.

post a pic of the solenoid on the mini starter. There are different style solenoids and some require an inline diode to shut off once they start
