Hanging off my brake switch
This is hanging off my brake switch. I'm not exactly sure what it is.. anyone know why it would be here? Thanks

Based on those connectors it looks aftermarket. Cruise control?
Edit: I’ve never seen those connectors used in an OEM application before, neat!

I believe that is just a noise suppressor capacitor to prevent noise in the radio when pressing the brake

They were compactors installed by dealers for radio noise suppression, I believe for AM Stations. My 73 has them.

They were factory installed if a car got a radio - the AIM illustration shows them.

If you connect it to 120AC- it will blow up like a M80....
It's rolled up aluminum foil...I learned that as a kid- and I still have all my fingers!!!

Ahhh yes.. I too enjoyed a nice explosive as a young man.. Richard!. I've been eyeballing those electric headlight conversion kits you sell on eBay. Maybe a few members here might join me for a group sale purchase?
