Power window motor rebuild
They are simple electric motors; if you've successfully torn down and reassembled other motors it's the same. The only tricky part is removing and replacing the plate that the brushes sit on. It's held in position by clips over the housing lip (as I recall) and need to be gently removed to free the plate. Watch as you remove the armature — mine had shims at the enclosed end. I didn't replace the end bushing, just cleaned everything up and re-oiled. I think I remember the gear end had a bushing too - whether bushing or bearing, clean it and re-oil or regrease.
Addressing the gear box is just a matter of cleaning out all of the old grease and putting in new.

This YouTube vid shows the internals and how it's disassembled and reassembled. The video starts at ~17:00 with the motor rebuild, but earlier shows getting it out of the door.
