Default Auto transmission help

A very strange thing happened on the drive to work this morning. When I took some corners the transmission would bog down. It felt like driving a standard transmission does if you shift into a higher gear while going slow. The engine just bogged down and I had to stomp on it to shift back into a normal gearing. It didnt do this everytime I took a turn but it did it at least a few times. I'm hoping the tranny isn't going away. Any ideas or suggestions on what to look for???

Check the vacuum to the modulator at the back of the transmission.
