Default Tachometer wire routing and location

I have an 81, I put in MSD ignition box, coil, and distributor. Where do I put the gray wire to read my RPM on the factory tachometer? I don't necessarily need it. It would be nice to have because anything worth doing is worth doing right. Any advice would be appreciated, thank you for your time.

The distributor cap doesn't have a plug marked TACH?

I bought the car used and it had that distributor, as far as I know it doesn't have a capacitor. I'm doing my own research I need to know how to find the tachometer wire that goes directly from the RPM gauge. So it's directly connected. I feel as though this would be the best way.

Aloha Tempest,
I just had a similar issue. I have an older MSD 6AL which has a round slot on the far side which you can put a female spade connector on. This is the Tach out on the older MSDs, the newer ones have the grey wire. Hope it helps.

The connector on right in pic is tach out.

Well the factory tach wire connected to the capacitor on one end and the other end the factory distributor was connected. You have to find a disconnected wire, hopefully they didn't cut it off.
