Why I like C3s
I own a 1976 L-82 and a 2000 Coupe, both manuals. They are very different animals. I mostly post in the C5 section, but I wanted to share a few thoughts with C3 people.
1. I rarely see a C3 driver talking on a cell phone while driving, but RARELY ever see a C5 driver NOT on a cell phone.
2. C3ers wave more often.
3. My C3 takes me back to the good old days. The C5 is a great car, but it is almost too civilized.
4. I can actually work on the C3. If I had to, there is nothing on the C3 that I cannot rebuild. There is not much you can do on a C5 without a computerized setup.
Just a few thoughts, but it would be hard to choose between the two if I had to only have one.

I too, have a C3 and a C5. I like C3s better. Much better! :steering:
BTW, I never post in the C5 Forum because there is nothing to post about. It has all been pretty well covered. Thinking about selling it. Here is a pic:

Re: Why I like C3s (SilverMN6)
There are many basic differences between owning a C3 and a C5:
-- A C5 is state-of-the-art, the C3 is a classic. Even the "newest" C3 is now over 20 years old!
-- C5s, like most modern cars, require very little maintenance. C3's, well you know...
-- Many C5 owners know little about their cars. They don't need to. But a large majority of C3 owners are wrenchheads -- they gotta be!
-- C5 owners and C3 owners can be very different people. If you don't believe me, go to a Corvette club meeting. The primary exception are those who own both!
This is not to say one or the other is better. They're just very different and were/are state-of-the-art performance cars in their respective eras...

It's gotta be the curves and the visceral feel of a seat of the pants driving experience. I don't like it all the time (my butt's getting too soft) but when it's good, it's REALLY good.

I agree, I am able to work on my 1980 corvette and also my old truck, but when it comes to the new cars, I dont know where to start. :)

What I like about any old muscle car is it transports me back a few years to when I had few worries and used to dream about having a muscle car. I just love the feel of cruisng with the top down and feeling and hearing the eng roar.

Owning both a C3 and a C5 I've discovered I have the best of both worlds. Trying to talk on a cell phone in the C3 would be useless! I can't even hear the radio above 45 mph! However the C3 doesn't have air conditioning so the a/c in the C5 is great!

Re: Why I like C3s (SilverMN6)
Theres nothin like sitting in the C-3..300+ horse under the hood..a nice slow loud cam rumble..so much heat pouring in the interior just for a brief tiny second you wish you had A/C..your foot pressed on the break so hard because you can bearly hold her back..Then the light turns green and you just blast...instantly feeling better about being you...... :auto: ...Then my wife puches me and starts yelling at me to slow down :D
