It's located in the engine bay, on the left, just behind the alternator.

If you're talking about the short section of red wire & eyelet connector to me that looks like a factory fusible link. The black capsule is covering the soldier joint between the normal stranded wire and the fusible link wire.
Not sure the block is original it's bolted to though...
that red wire looks like the wire that should connect to the horn relay which would be right where you describe it behind the alternator. That white junction block does not look original to the car but mine is a 73 so I cant be sure if that was something the 74 had.
