Having trouble getting the right u/j for my rear drive/half shaft. Every time I order a pair the supplier says they will fit all corvettes from 63-82. They are all too small on the bearing cap but ok on the axis. Mine measure 3and 5/8" on the axis and 1 and 3/16" on the bearing cap. I believe this is a type 1350 and they are attached to diff by u clamps. Does anybody know part number for the Hardy Spicer joint? Supply over here in UK is limited.. Car is a 1978 auto.. Thanks
Your rear axle half-shafts on a 78 should be 1350.
But strange things happen when people swap parts on old cars, and a couple of years of C3s did use 1330s at that location.
Both the 1350 & the 1330 measure the same width.
But the cap diameters vary. See above chart.
I would measure the cap diameters on both the axle hub side and the half-shaft side.
There are always combo joints that pair a 1350 half-shaft to a 1330 axle yoke, etc.
Now if you meant engine to diff driveshaft, it could be either 1310 or 1330 or one of each.
