I installed a new CS144 alternator and replaced the positive and negative wires with 0 gauge to upgrade for upcoming stereo build. I also purchased the 10si to cs144 adapter that has the resistor in the wire. It's charging at 14.4 volts and seems to be working great. One thing though, the alternator light on the dash stays on. Not sure if it's worth mentioning, but I also installed all led bulbs in the the dash, but that bulb didn't come on prior to swapping alternators. Any thoughts? I really don't want to have that light on, I want it to work properly.

What happened to the original plug with the two wires?
I've not done the alternator conversion, so I'm not sure what the purpose of the in-wire resistor is, but there will be a voltage drop across that resistor. Did you take your charging measurement at the alternator output, or at the battery terminal? If that drop causes the voltage at the charge sensing circuit to dip below the threshold, the light will come on. Is there a way to take the resistor out of the circuit for a test so see if removing it causes the light to go out? Hope this helps.
The GEN light didn't come on even after I swapped in LED bulbs. But now the light is light when the car is on, even though I see it's charging at 14.4 volts. The resistor is for C3's that don't have the GEN light. But other threads have said even if you have the GEN light, you can use the adapter with the resistor.

There is a voltage drop. At the brown wire at the alternator there is 5.74 volts, on the other side of the resistor it's 5.82 volts.
This is the adapter I purchased. Does anyone know which pins on the CS144 side should be used? I haven't looked but I believe it's Pin 1 & pin 3. Will have to double check next time I'm up at the Manshack.
