1973 L-82 350 4spd with 3:50 rear. Rebuilt at 100,000 / now 33,000 miles on rebuild with new but stock L-82 cam. Have electronic ignition, 2101 performer intake, and looking to replace carb with original Quad jet carb. Q-jet was rebuilt by Lars 15 years ago. Will have it looked over again before installation. Also, have Doug’s D350 ceramic headers to put on. Looking to buy and install AFR Aluminum Eliminator angle plug 64cc heads. Anyone have fitment issues with this set-up? Anyone have any thoughts about this set-up? Best wishes -
PS> this car is strictly a street driver, but looking to get better performance.

Check and see if they are raised exhaust ports...that brings the headers up and causes issues. AFR heads are the best, especially cnc'd chambers...i would investigate smaller chambers for smaller domes, but i like higher combustion pressure

Yup --- But actually brings exhaust up And OUT.
it's a 90 degree Vee but 45 degrees from centerline.
If head MFR states how much port's raised, using a little trig will tell ya exactly how far up & out exhaust will deviate from OE.
With some good heads that should be a fun street car. Only recommendation would be to curve the distributor (if not already) and if it were mine it would have some 1.6 roller tip rockers.
Never took trig...probably need it now...but math.....
Suggest anyone attempting mods that involve angles, to download a Reference Manual titled "Machinery's Handbook".
There have been dozens of editions published. Many older editions available to download Free of charge.
It contains basic examples of rudimentary applications; as well as more advanced.
It's a LARGE, searchable desk reference; Nearly 4000 pages, repeat nearly 4000 print pages.
This has been in continuous publication for Over 100 years. Give it a whirl !
