Default 19x10.5 wheels

Can they fit on a 1980 with stock suspension? I’d be willing to move the brake cable, but not willing to make cuts. Is it possible without rubbing in the rear? Is it at all possible in the front?

Entirely depends on your backspacing/offset. After more than around 5 1/2” (-6.35 offset) in the rear you start to contact the frame. Of course every car is a little bit different because of tolerances and different condition of body mounts.

What tire size are you selecting ?

in my search for 19" wheels this are the best match for close to 27" dia.

275/35R 19 this fits on a 9-11" wheel

285/35R 19 this fits on a 9-11" wheel

325/30R 19 this fits on a 11-12" wheel

335/30R 19 this fits on a 11-12" wheel

other wheel sizes are closer to 26" dia meaning you will need to also adjust your trans speedo gear to make it read better.

My 78 I use 275 40R 18" wheel with 18x9.5" with 4.75" BS this required NO changes to any factory parts for clearance issues. (ALL 4 WHEELS FRONT/BACK)

Just info. With that wide of a wheel the front steering arm and tie rod end will be inside the wheel hoop and the same for the rear spring bolt. Clearance issues. JP

Not 19s but I currently run 18x10.5s on my stock body 82 with 275/40 tires all around. -11mm (-.43") offset, which is 135mm (5.32") back space.

The rears you'll just have to relocate the parking brake cable bracket on the trailing arm.

The fronts work but rub at full lock in various places. I also had to trim the inside of the fender lip so the tire could clear when tucked. Both of these have more to do with tire width and diameter than rim width. I could probably alleviate 99% of these fit problems by going to a shorter 275/35 even with the 10.5 wide rims.
