Re: Aftermarket A-Arms (Twin_Turbo)
Nope, sorry, if you want something else you're in custom territory
Marck
Marck, why don't you fab us up a set of custom weld on mounts for our C-3 frame and we could use '96 Vette Aluminum A-Arms, Spindles & Brakes and a C-3 mono-spring kit from VBP ? :yesnod: :yesnod: :yesnod:
I just want something lighter, perferably with polygraphite bushings and high quality ball joints already installed. I heard VBP doesn't use very good ball joints, is this true?
Jim Meyer Racing Products make them. They are available with a coil over conversion. I can't tell you a whole lot about them other than I've seen their ads in different Corvette magazines.
looking at what? C4 stuff, yes.. looking at that currently. I want to ditch the heavy stuff if I can.
Track width? I will have to have measurements for the C4 lower arm, I requested that on the C4 forum but didn't get the measurements :( I'll probably go and pick some up for trial fitting pretty soon...Look at the geometry of the arms, upper vs. lower on C3 & C4 (unscientific comparison.. but it'll have to do for now)

Re: Aftermarket A-Arms (Twin_Turbo)
By track width I mean will you be able to the original wheels?
I also like the C-4 because it is front steer.
I just wondered if the A-arms were to long because of the Negative Wheels on the C-4. I think that Paul Newman Cars has a frame using all C-4 suspension but it's out of my price range.
I guess I will have to stick with the old C-3 stuff and the upper tubular arms I have now with the JEEP Steering Box. That is unless you come up with something better! Thanks Marck, JIM
I just checked http://www.jimmeyerracing.com/ and no mention of anything for C3's, although the site does say they can "make anything".....for a price I'm sure. I just wish VBP would make lowers to match the tubular uppers they have, that's a mod I'm looking at doing next. Are you listening VBP? :D
There is an ad in the March 2003 issue of CORVETTE FEVER from Jim Meyer that features their new handling package for 63-82 Corvettes. Included are tubular a-arms and QA1 coil overs. The ad says to call for more info.
I just checked their website also, it looks like it needs to be updated.
