Default Stereo Option

I just wanted to post a recommendation for a stereo option, especially if you want to maintain you C3 dash or put it back to the original look. Since we are using the Cell Ph for EVERTHING. I just installed a Bluetooth device, a lil bigger than a Cell Ph, that was really easy to install and "pair" with my Cell Ph.

About 20 years ago I installed my audio system in the passenger side rear compartment; 400-watt pwr amp, Sirus radio and head unit with a wired LED remote control used in boats to control everything. In my dash I had previously installed a Custom Audio C3 Corvette look alike radio. It looked great but the controls malfunctioned. I kept it there with the radio light connected so the dash looked original. The actual audio system was entirely concealed in the rear compartment.

My marine control unit quite working after 20 years of faithful service. I cleared everything out except the pwr amp and installed this 'Out Of Sight Audio" Bluetooth device. I got the Mark 4 model, $400. It has RC audio out jacks for a pwr amp or you can wire the speakers directly to the device. No head unit or aux music source required. All audio and audio adjustments are controlled on the Cell Ph via Bluetooth.

It really cleaned things up and you don't have to mess with the dash. And

no, that 400-watt amp has been jamming in that rear compartment for over 20 years and never over heated.

Thanks for this information on the Mark 4. I gutted my original radio but keeping the power through the original ****, display light and ground in place and plan to put a bluetooth device inside the old radio. Not an audiophile and been consternating on what unit to buy. Don't plan to use external amp and just using some new speakers in place of the old dash units.

The Out Of Sight Audio device is slightly bigger than a Cell Ph. Not sure if it will fit inside the radio. But if you're not going to go with a pwr amp and wire the speakers directly to the device, they are 50 watts per speaker, then maybe you could mount it under the dash somewhere. You will need to run a switched 12 vdc line and a ground as well as both speaker wires to the device.

Being you'll have the interior tore up replacing the speakers, you could mount it in one of the rear compartments and run the wires though the center consol and E brake cover. That way if you ever do decide to go full audio your all set-up.

The pros for the Out Of Sight Audio is that it is very easy to install, paired with my ph immediately and is only a Bluetooth device no other features. The others had wired controllers and external wires for lighting accessories ect...

The con is that it only has one set of RC jacks for the pwr amp. I combined my front and rear so I there is no fade from front to rear which is not a big deal in C3. The system sounds great.

If you find yourself wanting to rock out a lil more here's some additions I made along with a 400 watt digital amp. sounds great even over my sidepipes

this is what i did.

kenwood BT media player 6 channel rca output and is short than a cd player. kenwood has a app so you can control the head unit with your phone.

i put in the rear storage compartment and wired my 8-track in to the aux port so i can play everything through it.

OK, so it wasn't a typing error - you really have an 8-track THAT WORKS. Very clean job on the rear speakers and amp!
