Default 1979 seat henge cap nuts

I'm upgrading my car with new clam shell seats. When I looked at Top Flight Auto for henge cap nuts I was amazed at the price. When I put 24 cap nuts in the field and filled out all the info it said $75. I noticed it was $23 for shipping. This has gotten out of hand, they could be shipping those in a padded envelope for a couple dollars not 23. Then I found a bundle for the same 24 cap nuts for half price and the shipping was the same. So those cap nuts will cost $50. Does anyone know what the size of those push on cap nuts are so I can find them somewhere else?

For this sort of thing, I usually turn to eBay. I've no connection to this seller other than I believe I've ordered from them in the past and had no problems. Their set is $15 for 24 nuts plus $5 shipping.

Some of the aftermarket ones have larger holes in them that the factory ones and don't stay in place. I purchased some from a company and they just didn't work. I measured the dia of the small end of the bolt coming thru the hinge and the hole and showed the company and they refunded my money. There is another thread about this subject and people said to put some clear sealant in the Acorn nut to hold things in place. I will be doing this when I get my interior back in here shortly.

Well, I attached the foam and seat covers to the clam shell. I read in a post somewhere that it took some guy 6 hours to hook the wires to the shell clips, and i remember thinking how hard could it be and i thought it should only take me about an hour or so. After about an hour and only getting two of them attached I then understood why it took that guy 6 hours and since it only took me 5 and a half hours, I guess I did good. The post I read also said that the guy learned how to put a lot of curse words together in the same sentence. I now know how to put those same sentences together. The seats are done except for the nut caps I'm waiting for. Then I can put them in the car. A word to anyone who undertakes this project, have patience and an extra set of hands. Also, a light that mounts to your forehead so you can see what you are doing. The brail system does not work on the project. I used two flat screwdrivers and a forked screwdriver that I made myself, it allowed me to control the wire, and the flat screwdrivers were used to push the wire in the clips.

Burnt C6 was totally right. The push on nuts for the seat henge plastic covers do not fit. Do not buy them from anyone except for specialty corvette shops. What a waste of money, they were not even close to fitting.I would not call them push on nuts, I would call them flop on fall off nuts.
