Finally doing the building on my 68 L79. I am replacing the rocker arm studs. When we screw in the ones do I need to use thread sealant or blue locktite?
Assuming your machinist is doing the modifications....the studs can use locktite on the threads and you can use sealer on the top of the boss and both sides of the guideplates.
The factory guideplates and pushrods can be pre-assembled because the tolerance allowance is very tight. No need to align those as there isnt much allowable adjustment. Factory did not have the time or skill to do it and the machining was very accurate.
Any aftermarket pieces would be better installed at final assembly where you can better align the rocker tips to the valve stems. They give you more adjustability.

Factory L79 used press in studs. So did someone machine the heads for screw in?

Loctite is all you need.
