Tri power outer carbs
here is what I have done:
first ride of the year I know outer carbs were working, but found engine flooding. Diagnosed rear needle valve not closing.
I pulled carbs. Rebuilt my rear carb, the sticking one, and new bowl gaskets on middle primary carb.
while carbs were off I changed my carb spacers. and all new gaskets.
reinstall carbs do some tuning, test drive car runs great except my outer carbs won’t open.
I triple checked my gaskets, all look good.
I bench tested vacuum pods, carbs will open
i disconnected carb linkages at idle, moved outer carbs by hand- engine revved
i disconnected vacuum line to outer carbs, plugged it and drove- car runs but won’t rev, hesitates and chugs if you get on it.
I put a softer spring in vac pods. I was using plain, dropped down to purple.
triple checked linkages, adjusted per service manual specs.
latest ride out if I step on the gas I get a “pop” like a gunshot. Before it was doing the chugging. It’s like I’m getting worse here.
any ideas where to look? My next thought was to pull my carb spacers out my old ones back on. I dunno. I’m just trying to undo everything I did basically.
I am not a Holley expert, but when I have taken my tri-power carbs apart I always check the gaskets when I pull them apart so that I select the correct gaskets to put it back together,
The Holley diagram shows the correct gaskets. I don't know how to select the correct ones from a rebuild kit.

thanks for this.
I thought about gaskets, they seem correct to me. There is really only 1 that can fit (I think)
also my thought was given that the engine revs if I move a carb manually at idle, they should be working.
