while I absolutely agree the engine bay photo in the original post is absolutely from a Hobby Car Corvette advertised car as it says so right in the photo and doesnt look like the same car in the post in color...I dont believe that one is it... no headers but why post a photo of a car from Hobby Car Corvette?

I have always felt numbers matching was stupid. Rare exceptions like ZL-1 L-88 426 hemi etc may make a car more desirable to some. But a smog era car really doesn't matter much.
Still a 78 pace car with a base engine is worth less than one with an L-82.
Hagerty used to be about insurance - now ALL they YAP about is $ value etc etc - makes me sick !
Anyone know if they are a Forum sponsor - so I can delete this post ?

Interesting... A lot of comments say Hagerty is high. Are they over-valuing cars in order to spur owners to up their insurance coverage, knowing their risk is minimal?
(Too late on the delete - I've locked it in to history!)
They pissed me right off.
A few years ago our largest Corvette club in Ontario Canada had a gathering /show at a military / war plane museum up here.
There were various tours and presentations going on - because Hagerty were a sponsor I went to their presentation / seminar expecting something interesting - it went on forever and all it was about was Corvette values statistics - curves audio visuals etc etc
We didn't / don't buy these cars like a stock investment !
Because I was too polite to get up and leave through the middle of this crap I missed a VERY INTERESTING presentation about a famous WWII bomber on display.
i will never forget that !
