I need to replace one of my hood insulator blanket retainers. Looks like it's glued on pretty solidly. What's the best way to get the old one off? Heat gun and Putty knife?
What's the best type glue to use to install a new one? Two-part epoxy or just some weatherstripper adhesive?
I think when I took mine off I just used a stiff putty knife and gently tapped them off. Don't go too hard or you can damage your hood. I never reinstalled mine because I didn't like the look of the blanket under the hood but I think you would be OK using either an epoxy or Liquid Nails. Good luck.
