I want to have my frame and miscelaneous suspension pieces powder coated. I just got a quote from a local company of $300 for everything. This includes them blasting the frame and I blast the small pieces. Is this a good deal or am I being over charged?
Thanks

I had tubular upper/lower controls, upper/lower ball joints and spindles done and was charged $90. Although removed, mine included taping off the ball joints etc. (detail work)
That's one hell of a deal. I was quoted around $400 by two different shops for doing my frame... my motorcycle frame  No blasting either.
Make sure they know what they are doing, though. Do they have a big enough oven to stick your frame in? The main advantage of powder coating is that it won't scrath, but I once had the triple tree for my bike powder coated and I could scratch it with my fingernails
Thanks for the response guys. I'll have to check in to whether the price includes degreasing. As far as baking.... This is a industrial shop that handles large shipyard repairs but works car pieces in between. My frame and a few others will fit in their oven at the same time.
What type of supplier would perform acid dipping? If the frame is acid dipped does it still require sand blasting? Can the powder coating be applied to the surface after acid dipping? Never considered rusting from the inside out. Gotta luv this forum. Also, I'll be contacting you guys on rebuilding my TA's.
Well I supply Acid Dipping. There is no need to sand blast it afterwards.Yes you can power coat or paint the frame afterwards. We do frame offs all day long and they all get acid dipped. We've done many NCRS cars as well. :yesnod:
yeah thats a good price.....the place i deal with charges 275 and 350 if you pick a metalic color that requires a clear coat on top...i did mine in melatic silver and it required the clear baked on top.....man it looks awesome they sandblasted it too for the same price, so YES thats a good deal
