Default Zip Tie Fun

I just found this comment on a site bitching about "Whistle Tip" muffler inserts. I had to find-out what these things were since I had heard of their banning in Oakland.

Here's the comment:

Forget the exhaust whistle. If you want to freak somebody out, take a plastic zip-tie and fasten it around the driveshaft of the car, but leave the end of it long enough to strike the underside of the car as it spins.

Not that I've ever done anything like that, of course. Not me, no sirree.

Now wouldn't that be fun. :reddevil

Haha - reminds me of when I was young, too. Well - not that young - but
college. We used to park in a back lot with a dirt lot and an abandonded
building adjacent. Our 'buddy' Dave (another one) became prey to our prank.
We found a bunch of nylon cord and some giant floor buffing pads. We tied
one end of the cord to the buffing pads and left them in the building doorway.
The cord was then buried until we reached Dave's car. The other end of the
cord was fastened to his rear axle (full size Caprice).

We all laughed about it later, but Dave was wondering why traffic was staying
SO far behind him on the highway !! There was at least 30 feet of cord there.
:lolg: :lolg:  :lolg: :lolg: :jester :lolg: :lolg:
After that, Dave checked his car carefully before going home.  :lolg: :lolg:

I had a friend tie his old xmas tree to his neighbors rear bumper. He saw the guy leave with the tree following as he went around the corner :lolg: .

Must be the cold weather up here - gives us brain feeeze - then the body
starts doing stupid things. I love it - A Christmas tree !! That's one way to
dispose of it, but it's easier for me to burn it than walk all the way to my neighbors.

Back in welding class for my pipefitters local, whoever was dumb enough to park next to the doors of the building always left with a nice long zip tie strapped to the driveshaft of their service van, courtesy of the smokers who stood out there during break. There was no doubt who got it when you heard them coming down the block! :lolg:

Had a buddy with a LeMans (A Wannabe GTO) with small hubcaps.
When he went to McDonalds for a shake in his girlfriends car one night,
we popped off all the hubcaps, put pebbles in them, and put them back on.
Drove him freakin nuts for about 2 days. At slow speed, all he heard was crunch crunch etc. At higher speed the noise went away!!!
Ah, the power of centrifugal force

All right AC! Good to see a fellow pipefitter on this forum! The most fun I ever had was back in high school. Had a beater that was junk, so I dismounted all the tires and put the steel wheels only back on, then disconnected all 4 shocks. It looked funny as all he_ _. There were sparks flying, and the car was bouncing and sliding all over the place, and the noise was horrendous! :lolg:
