It's not that bad to change them, just have to jack the motor up a little. You can get them from O'Reilly Auto Parts (they have them in stock). They sell Pioneer brand which is a good quality product. They can also get poly motor mounts if you desire.
427V8, tell me more. I have been thinking about getting poly mounts. In fact I have been convinced to get poly mounts. Why is there no benefit? Are they not stronger?
Go to Chevy and get the locking rubber mounts.
They will do anything you want them to.
Poly is a joke, it not like theres a performance benifit or anything...
Expound on this if you don't mind.... "Poly is a joke." For a stock engine I would put back OEM parts without any questions if that is what you are talking about. I am going with a bit more horsepower, so I only considered solid or poly mounts. I chose the more expensive of the two options(Energy Suspension Poly Mounts) only because I didn't like the idea of going to solid. And I really didn't feel like sourcing some mount that may or may not work, so I probably paid too much going with a Vette vendor.
I too went with poly motor mounts after my engine build. The GM rubber mounts were rotten/rusted, and I wanted something that would last while holding my motor still during hard acceleration. POLY DOES!!! I too would like an explaination/opinion of that "poly is a joke" comment. I'm all ears...

Just about evey classic we own has poly mounts and bushings. The vibration difference is like night and day. N.O.S. bushings are garbage, they lasted 3 years on my car (probably sitting on a shelf in a wharehouse for 30yrs  ). I would also like to hear the negatives of poly mounts and bushing, I didn't know they were any except they squeek at times.
If you're going to keep the car ... spring for energy suspension poly ... the colored ones are slightly better than black. Either colored or black ... they're all interlocking (good). No joke, poly is great.
If it'll soon be gone, then rubber replacement type from local parts house is fine ... just ensure they're interlocking also.
