I got a new oil pan for my 73. I picked up this Moroso pan at a swapmeet last weekend for $50. http://www.moroso.com/catalog/catego...?catcode=11955 It was brand new and also had a windage tray in it. I ordered a pickup and put it on last night. It should help during more spirited driving.
My transmission lines run below the starter, but above the pan kick-out. The headers are awefully close though. This pan is deeper than stock by about 3/4". This pan provides more oil control (oil is more likely to be at the pickup & less likely to be splashed up onto the crank). It will probably provide slightly less oil temp by virtue of more area & oil, but not a lot.
Thats a nice looking pan
With 3/4" more depth you better watch out for those speedbumps  :smash:
:D The headers will cushion the blow. :D Besides at $50 that pan will never get damaged. Now if I'd spent $300 for an aluminum pan an inch shorter, well then I'd have too worry.
