I have one for a Chevy small block that protects the starter and solenoid. It is new, never used, and I have no use for it. You can have it for $15 plus shipping.
Hi
This are the once your thinking of, aren't you ?
Sorry, I can not tell you where to get them from, they where on the car when I bought it.
I saw them in a automotive wholesale catalogue, but don't remember which company. They where available in different lenght.
Myne are steel, chrome platet.
Sorry for not being of any help. Gunther
How about keeping a hand towel folded up and stuck next to the seat so that your passengers can drape the towel over the sidepipes before they get out. As for the driver, you forget one time when wearing shorts, and I'm pretty sure you'll remember to step out wide.
Do a search in the archives, I believe I saw some heat shields that are available for Cobras 4 inch pipes, about $250 a pair. Look retro. slotted or round holes. Do a GOOOGLE search on Cobra heat shields. If anyone is using these Cobra heat shields I would be interested in their comments about look and fit!
The shields are presently attached to welded on studs.
I got newer exhaust tubes now and I will not weld any studs to them anymore, but bolt the shields to clamps with a fireproof insulator in between.
I will post some pics once I'm done.
Oh, yes, they might be condoms, but I prefer the look than just the blank tubes. They look hot with the shields ( like Hookers )
