I like it! Looks like they took the fender bulges from a C3 and mashed it together with a C5. Since I like both body styles, it works for me. I do wonder about that terraium bubble though on top. I'd have to wear a visor or hat to keep from being blinded in the FL sun. It would also have to have one heck of an A/C system. Hmm, photo electric tinting on it would be cool. I can't imagine what the interior temps would soar to if left out in the sun here.
well......a corvette covered in trash is still a corvette even though its a c4.....no offence to our c4 owners. but like like i said, there is no uglt vette just mismanaged ones and stupid owners......that would the bubbas!!!!
Looking at these C3 man do I miss mine. I am looking buy a C4 no a C3 no a C4 no a C3 no a C4 no a C3 ?????
Sadly, i kinda like it. Reminds me a little of the Corvette Indy Concept. Also reminds me of the avelante split window vette that i saw on the cover ov Corvette Magazine a few months back. Ive seen MANY other concept vettes rumored to be the new C6, but none have really impressed me. Somthing tells me the C6 will be by far the best corvette ever, or it will turn out to be the worst. I dont think this next generation will be something in between. Hopefully it doesnt force the Vette to end up like the camaro....discontinued.
The ugliest vette is the vette that doesnt exist, otherwise known as the empty space in my garage.
Speakin of the best vette ever, ive HEARD that the 50th anniversary model is it. I really like the idea of the active ride suspension( or whatever its called). I saw how it works when it was explained on Auto Week, the way the ions and everything react to make for a smoother ride, and ill have to say, im really impressed. Anyone who owns/driven one agree? Unfortunately, I have never actually driven a vette, given ive only been old enough to legally be able to drive for almost a year, so I guess my opinion doesnt count for much. I would really like to know what model/year everyone thinks is the "best." I should probably start a new thread for that. Maybe tomorrow, its getting a little late.
G'Day, mates,
Just be grateful that you live in the good ol' U. S. of A. Down here in the antipodes, we had a company in the eighties that produced the "Perrenti", a Corvette based fibreglass abortion that sat on a Holden One Ton Utility chassis.
It had a Holden V8 engine (good) but a fibreglass body (bad) that had quarter windows behind the doors because of the longer Holden chassis and it looked a real POS. Nevertheless, some were registered and are still on the road. ONLY IF YOU BEG ME will I try to photograph one and put it on this forum for your edification. Keep your wives and children away from here if I do! You have been warned.
Personally, I think the above linked 85 might be my choice.
I was prepared to jump on the Covette Summer Corvette band wagon.
Over done just like the clothes some people wore back then.
Wide collars, Disco shirts, Bell bottoms.
I was just a kid then so I was immune.
Subtle mods are cool, but when you can't tell what year the car is anymore, you've gone too far. :U
I intend to keep mine looking stock, except, I would like some polished 16 inch wheels.
The car is not a Corvette. G.M. had nothing to do with it. The Italian body companies have been doing custom bodies on various chassis since the 1930's. Prior to WW2 many countries had custom body builders, and they would all bring out custom bodies on production chassis. Sometimes it was to just display their ideas, sometimes it was a special creation for some rich dude wanting a unique car. In fact Duesenberg never ever built a car on the famous "J: or "SJ" chassis. All Duesenberg built were chassis that sold for $7500.00 in the depression era, and the customer took the chassis to a custom coach builder to have a custom body installed. Today the only such builders left are in Italy with the exception of Ghia which I think might be Swiss. That car is an attempt by an Italian coach builder to pay tribute to the Corvette. As such I think it should be applauded. It may not be the best looking Vette you have ever seen, but a designer cared enough about the car to try out some of his ideas. It would surprise me greatly if it was ever built by G.M. because the Corvette has always been designed "in house."
rats! i like the look of the moray, but I accidently voted for it thinking it would link to a picture. The corvette summer vette has to be the ugliest one ever built! Joe
Oh yuck, it's that hippie mobile again. That must be the worst vette ever. I wonder if the guy did the underside too. That engine must be a real PITA to work on, you can't call one thing from another in there.
