I'm not really a big fan of crate motors. All you would need to do with that AR motor to get some more horsepower out of it would be switch to a solid flat tappet or a roller cam.
I love this description: "race prepared nodular crank indexed chamfered". Oh, I thought is might have been a stock GM cast iron crank :lolg: (Not that there's anything wrong with a cast crank :))
Am I missing something here? Doesn't torque == horsepower at 5250 rpm? Therefore with 495 ft lbs of torque at 5300, wouldn't the max horsepower be somewhere around 490+ at 5300 rpm?
From the ad "480 hp @ 5950 RPM 495 ft. lbs torque 5300 RPM "
Actually for that motor a cast GM crank would suffice. I'm actually running a stock LS4 crankshaft in my motor....and it's putting out more power than the AR one.
