Default Anyone looking for sidepipes?

I just bought a brand new pair off e-bay at what I think is a good price. Recieved them yesterday and they look real good. Check it out if your interested. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...category=33633

Yeah, I saw those. I'd go for it if they were 3". :D There is a nice set of big block black coated side pipes with headers on there for about $550 also I think. You'll have to post pics once you have them installed.

I talked to a fellow who told me that you have to cut the body panels behind the wheels in order to install 69 style sidepipes. Is this true?
Thanks

Bob...

Have you already bought the covers for the sidepipes? I'm amazed at the price of OEM side exhaust covers... $2200+ I saw in one of my catalogs today. I'm thinking a '70-'71 vette only sold for about $6500. Ahhhh.... duh.... nope! I can think of better places to throw that money at. I have the fiberglass versions.

Roadster - I did not have to cut anything to fit the factory pipes. The covers fit right where the rocker molding goes, and the pipes just drop down a bit lower. I just bolted them right up - no problems. The guys who have the Hooker side pipe setups all talk about having to cut the panels or the molding.

I did have to cut a notch on each side behind the front wheels. Small block factory pipes. No big deal though as it would be covered by the rocker moulding if the pipes ever came off.
