Well 2 weeks ago I got the Vette back from the painter and the car was offically done or so I thought. Last weekend on a cruise with SANDIEGOPAUL I felt the clutch slipping upon WOT in 2,3,4 gear. I was supposed to drop it off for a clutch job Tuesday but my mechanic (Brian's Classics Miramar) closed doors  So one of my friends at Midas said he would do it but his tranny guy disappeared on a trip to Vietnam and is one week overdue, hope he and his wife are okay.
Anyway I have an appointment to drop it off Monday morning and want to know what sort of clutch I should ask for, for a slightly warmed over 350 w/ 4 spd. 370 rear???
Also why does the clutch only slip on 2,3,4 gears but not on 1st gear?

Re: Clutch question (Cali,77,L-82)
Recommend LUK for a street low power clutch Cali,77,L-82. Bought mine mailorder from Northern Auto Parts (www.northernautoparts.com) for little over $100. Had it installed - yea wimped out, stressed out at the time - the trans shop manager couldn't say enough good things about LUK clutches and my price. Northern also sells the Hays products but 3X the price for what? Not 3X the clutch.
While things are apart, take a look at your clutch linkage from fork to through the firewall. All my clutch rods elongated the cross bar holes and had worn out even the pedal pin. Replaced it all - for less than a Hays clutch. :yesnod:

Took your advise and manager can get within 2 hours locally when I drop her off Monday morning. thanks again.
P.S. I'm also having him replace the rear seal since it started leaking more lately.
