Electric fuel pump install pics
I mounted up my electric fuel pump today and thought I'd share a few pics.
Basically, I bought an L bracket from Lowes and mounted it to the bracket which supports the tank. I put the bracket in one of the ribs on the tank. I previously removed the spare tire carrier and stored it in the attic, so it was not a concern for mounting location.
For sound reduction, I put rubber grommets in the fuel pump bracket and used "bonding washers" on each side of the bolt so I never have metal to metal. The bonding washer is a metal washer with a piece of rubber glued to it.
Here is a pic which shows the bracket mounted to the gas tank support. This is from the "laying on the ground" point of view:
In addition to the two bolts shown above (which screw into the drilled/tapped bracket), I used a piece of the bracket to clamp around the tank support.

I'm currently working on modifying the spare tire carrier so that it will fit. I'll then vent it pretty good and use it to store a tire plug kit, cig lighter pump, and can of fix-a-flat. I may also buy a used electric pump off ebay and store it there too, just in case.

Here is one more pic of the spare tire carrier cover mounted. This is from the ground, just behind the passenger rear tire:
There is plenty of clearance when the bottom tub is installed and my pump will be very nicely protected from the elements. Also, there is a large gap from the lid to the tub on the back side, so I don't need to add any venting for air flow.
