Default Leaking tranny

Replaced the transmission pan gasket, but after driving a day or two, and then letting it sit for several days, it is still leaking. Looks like it is coming from the back of the pan, but the weather is not cooperating to get under it.

If the pan isn't warped, what am I looking at in cost to have all the seals replaced? This is on a 78 with the 350.

Thanks!

Three areas beside the pan gasket that often leak and can be repaired
without removing the transmission are:
1. selector shaft seal.
2. speedometer driven gear housing.
3. rear seal.

1 and 2 are especially common areas of leakage. When the fluid
leaks it drips down to the pan and flows around the pan, making
it appear that the pan gasket is leaking.

There is also an o-ring seal for the vacuum modulator that is located toward the rear of the transmission.

Take some paper towels and wrap them around the aforementioned locations. Leave it overnight. Remove the towels. Voila! Whichever one is soaked will point out your leak.

Those towel are a helpful hint, but not allways totally accurate...sometimes the fluid flows along the case and gasket seam to another/lower point...
I find the dipstick tubes to be cantankerous as hell too....O ring seal, again....

what needs do is clean the damn thing totally....I mean every damn inch of it....case top, drop access pan cover on bottom of converter....and clean everything....drive it untill hot....then watch/see where leak is from....

I dunno, so it seems every time I touch one, I need replace every damn gasket in the thing.....frankly, that ATF is long term nasty stuff, and it seems to work wonders with heat to make all gaskets/O ring brittle as hell...touch one and it's toast at that point.....
