Good luck. Sounds like it may hold. I would probably go easy on it until my confidence built.

YESSSS!! i am home, and so is my freakin awesome Vette!!! it was a 20 minute trip from the shop to my house, and i stopped about 3 times to check it out. everything looked good, and with about 1/8 throttle, i was still able to take almost everything i saw off the line. and yes, i was painfully easy on it, as i don't think i ever went over 1/8 throttle the whole way home.
i did notice there is a lot of slop in the steering though, as any little bump would set me way off course.
oh well, to be honest, i had more fun on this little trip goin 10 miles an hour under the speed limit (or so i think...my speedo doesn't work :D ) in my vette, than i ever had yet in my 2 months drivin my 1983 datsun 280ZX, which is in perfect working order.

GOD BLESS AMERICA....AND MY VETTE!! :flag :flag :flag

Congrats on it holding for the drive home. I've never tested JB Weld for anything that serious, but it's good to know it can work. Great stuff!

I would tie a big leather belt around the engine just to make sure it holds together! I guess you have to let the engine heat up to really test it... Prepare to be enshrined in the Bubba Hall of Fame! MJ :lolg: :lolg: :lolg: :yesnod: :lolg: :lolg: :lolg:
I think a Bubba award is a great idea. Can we chip in and get rabwebster a box of chew and a greyhound ticket to Bubba's hometown? (no offense meant to the chewers in the audience). Better yet, sell the car immediately so we can all enjoy the posts from the next owner, "so I open up the block and I find a ton of JB Weld..."

I think that what is really a "Bubba" is not have tried the product for what is works great for. Bolt holes, small cracks and temps not over about 450 degrees. It is not meant for load bearing or severe stress points - that is for metal welds. Try it instead of throwing out that aluminum manifold or head or water neck.
