Visor Disassembly
I have a broken rod in my passenger visor and I purchased a new one. But when I pop off the little cap I dont know how to pop off the clips to seperate it from the windshield thing. Any help would be appreciated. :smash:

I tapped gently a few times on the visor rod elbow (thing) with a punch and hammer and the elbow popped out. Replaced the elbow and used a socket slightly larger than the elbow rod to push the new clip onto the rod.

If I remember correctly, I got the new clip with my stuff, so I just used a punch, tapping easily but forceful and drove it out from the top. This broke the clip, but worked. I'm sure there's a better way and someone will chime in. Good luck.

I used half of a piston ring from a blown up celica motor, sharpened up one end on the grinder, and picked the fingers holding the rod in place out. It worked good, but the clip was bent and I had to replace it anyways. I didn't want to use a hammer, as I already have a cracked windshield, and was a little nervous. PS, if you don't have a ring half laying around, a dental pic should work good too :lol: Good luck
