MY Rear spring is curved in an "S" pattern i dont know if this is normal or not. The spring was installed professionally and the ride hieght is very low.
Also what is this about the half shafts being straight is not good they need to be in an angle what is the truth in this? If i knew how to post pic. i would im still trying to figure iut out.

I believe the slight S shape is normal.

Who told you the half shafts were supposed to be at an angle? What angle are they referring to? The half shafts are constantly changing angle as you drive the car....

I have been told by a long time C3er road racer (130mph plus) that the half shafts must be at least 3 degrees down from level for the u joints to work properly. If less than this they bind internally.
I've been running mine horizontal for a couple of years and had no problem.

The half shaft thing sounds like a load of crap to me. I think they should be close to straight, that leaves some room each way for suspension movement. I would think that the spring would have a slight S shape as the center bends down and the ends bend up, but I don't know for sure. I just installed my glass spring and haven't driven it yet.

I have heard before that U-joints are never supposed to be straight but always installed a few degrees off. I'm building an engine dyno right now for the University of Texas- Austin, and this is one of the problems we are overcoming right now.

I am not sure what the spring is ratd at but it came in the Performance Plus suspension kit. Also my halfshafts are angled up not down because the ride hieght is so low. Is this bad? There is some angle to them just the opposite direction.

Is your spring twisted or curved lower at the driver side wheel then up between wheel and rear then down where it connects to rear and then up after rear and down again by passenger side tire? Do you have a heat shield between your exhaust and the spring? The way you lower your rear is with longer bolts. If the diff is lower than the connection at the tire I'd go back to the installer and tell him you want a stronger spring. That is of course that he did install a heat shield and your spring is not just melting..

My spring is the dual mount type. From the drivers side it curves up then between the 2 mounts it curves down then up like a "U" adn from the 2nd mount to the passengers side it curves down and matches the drivers side. The sides look normal but in the middle the spring looks like there is too much curveage.

I thought the angle for the half-shafts was so the bearings in the U-joints were contantly spinning. If you have the shafts horizontal, the U-joints are stationary unless the suspension goes into jounce or rebound. If the bearings sit in one spot for too long, I guess you could get the rollers "denting" the bearing races.
