81 Turn Signal help....
My Flashers work fine. All lamps are fine, brake, side markers etc.
Turn signal wont flash left or right side.
I can do it manually with turn signal lever on both sides but no flash.
Can the flasher unit work for just the 4 ways?

I had the same problem with my 81 and I beleive that I corrected it by changing the bulbs. Even though they all appeared to work changing the bulbs corrected the problem and I beleive that it was the curb illumination bulb on the right side that I suspected to be the culprit.

Turn on your parking lights and the 4way hazzard, check all bulbs if working, and see if improper bulb (1034 instead of 1157). If bulbs are OK you may have to replace signal switch.
I'd replace the turn signal flasher first though, and check the purple wire connectors at column and possibly clean contacts.
If you have the factory manual it's in section 8B for further diagnosis.
