Having a local muffler shop redo my exhaust to true 2 1/2 dual exhaust with H pipe. He suggested the dynomax super turbos. Just wanted to see others input on the turbos before I schedule the appt. I do want it loud, right now it sounds like a vega. Thx in advance :flag
I have the dynomax superturbos on my 77/ZZ3 vette. Prior to the h pipe install it sounded awesome and was quite loud. With the H pipe it is much quiter and not as aggressive sounding. Better for road trips I guess. I also suppose it gives the car a bit of a sleeper personality to the unsuspecting!!!
You might also look at the Ultraflows, they are fairly tame sounding until WOT then they sound very aggressive. They also significantly outflow the ST's.

Re: Dynomax Super turbo's (gdh)
I used the superturbo's on the old motor and then went to the UltraFlows with headers for the new motor. What a sound! At WOT the thing sounds ferocious, brutal and vicious....but around town it's great.
I have the super turbos on my '74 right now and think the sound is excellent especially for the money.
It's loud enough to **** my neighbors off, but I live on a totally uptight street with lots of retired folks.
It isn't really loud in my book but definitely noticable.
I think the neighbors will really hate the 454 sidepipe swap I'm doing right now. F--K them, if they complain I'll buy a Harley with straight pipes.
Anyway. I will sell the super turbos that are coming off next week, super clean, about 2000 miles for half of whatever the good catolog price is and any other part of the exhaust system including Dynomax ceramachrome, longtube headers for half of the good catalog price
I agree w/ the guys who recommend the Ultra Flos- I have them on both of my toys & the sound is perfect for me. Nice burble at idle, slightly aggressive at part throttle, wicked at full throttle, and quiet inside the car at highway cruise. I think you'd like them alot. You can spend the big bucks on the polished stainless steel(all they made when I bought them) or save alot by getting the regular cases on them.
