Here's the second wire that was attached to nothing. Right below the windshield wiper motor on the firewall is a silver canister and to the driver's side of that is a wiring harness that comes down beside of it. Two wires come out of that harness right above that canister.... an orange one appears to go back to the transmission somewhere and a brown one about 2 1/2-3 foot long is also hanging down. It has 2 plastic clips that clipped into something and a female plastic clip on the end. Anyone have an idea on this one?
The brown one sounds like the wire to your Idle Stop Solenoid. I have a brown that has two clips that attach to the valve cover (I'm sure the clips just keep the wire off of the manifold) and then plug to the solenoid.
Looked in my assembly manual and i think theorange wire goes to theTCSswitch on the trany and the brown one goes to the carb solinoid the brown one has a plastic (spade) with a female connector in it. Ilooked at my car and i petty sure thats right Dave :auto:

Hope this helps.

Terry....
Considering that scottw & I both have been running without that Idle Stop Solenoid wire hooked up I have to assume that it is really not necessary. I am going back with a modified Holley 750 4150 series carb on this engine, so I guess that wire just gets wrapped up with a few others that are no longer being used. I don't want to cut them out since I do have the original engine that might go back in one of these days.
Thanks to you & Dave for taking the time to research that out.
