Default headlights

headlight doors are both scraping the paint off at the rear on the lip when popping up, and the gap seems to look fine on both all the way around, also they are flush with the body, i tryed to ajust the up and down ajustment but then the lids aren't flush with body, is there any other ajustments screws i maybe over looked that may help? it doesn't seem to say much in the maintence manual

thanx guys and gals

I don't have a C-3, but it is my favorite Vette body style. I just saw this thread, and thought I'd answer. I think if memory serves that the headlight doors on the C3 open into the hood. Your problem may not be headlight door adjustment. It may be that the hood is out of adjustment. Can your hood be slid back a little?

get underneath the car and see if there is anything that is making the headlights jump track on the way up. my guess is something is stuck under there

-Russ thats not the case, the hoods aren't close to the lights but thanx for your thought tho bud

-Grzvette69 thanx for the reply, i'll look into that , sinse everying thing else looks good, i might even lossen the 3 bolts on each side, maybe it'll have enough play in it to bring the lids forward just enough too, or just out of trax like ya said , thanx 69

Common problem, most likely the suround has seperated from the metal brace that supports the headlights. You will need to clean and rebond it.Not to hard just a pita.

:iagree:
I had to replace the headlight surround on my 74. It was badly corroded and separating from the fiberglass. It was causing the lights to hit the body.

thanx everyone , you all bin a great help
i'll prob get around to check it all out prob sometime this week, the surround , sounds like the case, but will look over everything and see

anyone know the easiest way of repairing the surround? would it be easiest taken the light doors right out, or leaven it to keep it all in place to rebond,
Maybe someone has some pictures or a site that can help me out that would be  sinse im new to all this wicked Vette stuff
