Default anyone ever broke a 2004R?

Since more and more are opting for this swap I figure its gettin some time testing under its belt. Mine is doing well and Im very satisfied with its performance. Im wondering what others think. Has anyone ever had a major failure of a 200? I dont mean a worn out high mileage tranny eventually giving out, but one that failed or broke early as a result of hard use.

:withstupid: I've never heard a first-hand account of somebody tearing one of these up...

I plan to buy a 200 and buildit myself, maybe just buy the major parts, and keep it on hand for when my 700 POS decides to crap the big one again....
I never hear of a proper 200-4r going out....makes me wonder why they ever bothered to make the 700, when a 200 obviously would have worked in any application....
GM and their internal politics and what passes for 'management'....more like turf wars....

I'll probably be the first, I'm lucky that way.

I think we all know to run a tranny cooler and everything. Not too many people here have big power engines in front of a 200-4R either. Once you start getting the torque up there you'll break them. I think the stator shaft is prone to breaking. You can get all the hardened and billet pieces for them to make them bulletproof, just will cost you. Might as well get a TH400 with a GV OD then though.

My bro has broken 3 of them in his GN. He had one built that has lived for 2 years now. He runs low 12's.

You put enough power through any transmission and abuse it enough you'll break it, even a race built TH400. A TH200-4r built to GN specs should hold up for years behind a reasonable driven 400 hp engine.
