On 70-72 Vettes, the side grills are painted with just the outside surfaces unpainted - which allows the underlying chrome to show through. On my '72, both the horizontal and verticle "fins" are supposed to be unpainted - but I'm not sure how to do this...
I suppose the options are:
1. to mask them off somehow
or
2. to completely paint them and then to remove just the paint covering the fins
but I can't imagine an easy way to get a good result.
A light coat of Vaseline will mask any area you don't wanna paint! :flag
:iagree: That's how I do it. Works like a charm. And if you miss a small spot with the vaseline, a q-tip with lacquer thinner will clean it right up for you.
