There is a small vacum hose with a yellow or tan stripe coming out of firewall into engine compartment under wiper door limit switch that is just hanging.
End is burnt looks like it touched exhaust manifold. There is suction on the hose but i cant tell where it went. Any ideas. The car has AC if that helps.
Thanks Telk
Is this the hose you happen to be asking about? I found this one not connected in my '69 too. Check out the thread below the picture for some insight. I have not hooked it up to the vacuum system yet, so I don't know what its function is.
So, I'm looking through the 69 Assembly Manual and on page 143 there is mention that you have to cut the wiper vacuum hose running between the wiper actuator and the main vacuum canister to connect the heater/AC vacuum control hose. Instructions on my new ZIP vacuum hose kit say the same thing and that you'll have to use the existing "T" to connect it because ZIP doesn't include it in the kit. There is no existing "T" (part number 3929022) on the hose I've shown in the picture above and I can't find that part number in any of the supplier catalogs, so I can't even tell if this is the right hose I'm supposed to connect to.
It's a VERY small hose, much smaller than any hose in the regular vacuum system. It appears to run directly into the heater motor area, so I can only assume that this is what the hose is for, but now I need to find the right "T" to connect it.
Any ideas where to find this piece? It can't cost more than $ .50
And, can anyone check their 69 to see if we're right on this? Thanks.
