I came across a deal where I can get one of two running straight corvettes for under a grand. I was wondering if anyone knew any problems common with these years. What about tuning, just a regular 350 correct?
Differences between 75 and 76 are:
75 has fiberglass floor 76 has steel floor which tends to rust out around seatbelt pockets and front footwell
75 has functional cowl induction 76 does not
75 has hot air rear window defogger 76 has wire grid on window
76 used vega style wheel
Yes it is just a regular 350
As far as what you should do, the possibilities are endless
You could replace the dual to single to dual exhaust with true dual exhaust, this should decrease the restriction in the exhaust. You could swap out the intake and the cam, maybe change the heads. It all depends on how much power you want to make.
I have a 75 so thats what I would go with.383,200-4r,steeroids,hookers,oem style side pipes,PC spoilers and TT2's.About the only way I could be happier is if it was a C2 bb. :D
If all other things are truely equal (condition of interior, exterior, chassis) then it really depends on which one you like more. You should check the frames of both, C2/C3 frames have a tendency to rust out in front of the rear wheels. Also check the birdcage (around winshield, behind kick panels, etc.) for any signs of rust. Check the brakes and the rear suspension, repairs in these areas tend to be pricey and escalate into "while I'm at it I might as well replace this to".
