Color of headlight actuators
I am in the middle of redoing the vacuum system on my 80. There is some overspray on the vacuum actuators for the headlights so I was looking for paint to mimic the original finish. I saw Corvette Central had cad plating paint but did not know how closely this resembled original. What have you guys done in the past?? :chevy

Re: Color of headlight actuators (SharkintheWoods)
is this for an NCRS restoration? or are you just trying to get them to look super cool? i don't know what it would take to mimic factory appearance and i don't know how the 'cad' paint from CC looks. i do know that the eastwood catalog lists a cad finish process that consist of like a solution and three or four different paints to give a more authentic look.

Re: Color of headlight actuators (SharkintheWoods)
I had a bunch of 'resale' red overspray on mine, and I used laquer thinner to get it off the actuators and hoses. The original finish was fine underneath.

Re: Color of headlight actuators (clutchdust)
It is not NCRS but I was hoping to get near to stock without having to drop 90 bones per actuator. I did clean them up a little and they look better, but there is still a touch of discoloring where there was some rust around the studs.
