My 72 was a BB in it's former life. The 350 that's in it now was said to have come from a Chevelle. PLEASE....do these #'s off the block and trans tell you anything?
Forward block passenger side...12S525002VO613CKX
Rear block driver side...27GM
4-speed trans....1304065903
WG DIV
94.02.4
Does this identify the model or year of the motor? What kind of trans is this?
Any and all help will be greatly appreciated. :D :D :D :D

1972 CKX 350 tur hydro trans. K 200 4 Vette
1973 CKX 350 t/h, NB2 L65 145 2 Camaro
1976 CKX 350 a/t L L48 180 4 Vette
like gary said get the number on the back of the block drivers side
Thanks guys...I didn't see any other numbers on the block but will look again under all the grease!!! I'm willing to bet it's a 76-77 Vette due to the lack of performance. The seat of my pants tells me so.

You need to get the "date" to see WHICH one of those 350s it is. The date is on the bellhousing flange, passenger side, to the right of the "peak". Top of the date is towards the front of car. It will read like A138 , which would be January 13, '78 or D276 , which would be April 27, '76 and so on. Post it here and let us know. Also, as someone else posted, get that block casting # on the left bellhousing flange(kinda right under brake booster area).
Here's what I have so far....
Forward block passenger side...12S525002VO613CKX
Top bell housing driver side...27GM 3970010
Top bell housing passenger side..F 82
This is all I can find....Head #'s not available at this time..sorry

That F82 SHOULD be June 8, 1972, so I'd guess you have the "1972" 350. The assembly build date was June 13, 1972, five days after the block was cast.
Guess I need a new pair of pants! :D
So...whoever removed the BB and installed the SB did some looking to find the same year motor. That build date is that of the motor...right?
Thanks for all your reasearch guys...and to all who responded. Your the best!
Now all of you go out and have a couple of cocktails on me.
