I bought the 74 to tinker with, little did I know that such tinkering would require 100% of my time (I'm retired). Among my many projects is the replacement of the body mounts due to crushed bushings and rusted support brackets. So today I ordered the rear support brackets and body mounts from Eckler's. I found out that the convertible requires two different style mounts and needless to say, not only was Eckler's was out of the mounts for positions 2 & 3, but that they were being discontinued. Now What?
If anyone reading this that has replaced the body mounts, I would appreciate any words of wisdom. I promise, I am good at following instructions.
Go get a can of PB Blaster penetrating catalyst, 1-800-858-6605. If you cannot find these mounts call the shop, 1-615-255-3939, ill help you find what you need! :smash:
you should be able to find the bushings listed in a couple different CF advertisers. they are not that uncommon. they are that much of a pain in the a**. personally, unless you have the ability to get the body at least 6" off the frame, don't bother. the higher, the better. but it will be nearly impossible with the body fully in place. go ahead, ask me how i know :smash:
 i'm very surprised ecklers claims to be discontinuing the cushions. i'm equally surprised there is a difference between the coupe and convertible cars.

When you say the #2 and #3 mounts, do you mean the rubber cushions or
the steel brackets welded to the frame ?
All eight body cushions should be the same. To save some bux and stiffen up
the body, look at a set of polyurethane cushions. For much more $, the
original rubber ones are available. All this stuff is in the ZIP C1-C3
