tach cable problem
I installed my Mallory distributor this past weekend. I hooked my new cable up, one problem. The cable does not turn the tach. The inside looks to be turning intermitantly depending on postion. When the cable is hooked to the tach it turns intermitantly too. Has anyone had problems with aftermarket cables doing this?

Hi mine was the same way but i installed the msd distributer in the package of parts i found a small adapter that made my cable fit the output of the new distributer maybe mallory is the same ,it was easy to over look because it was so small Dave :auto:

i know the msd dist. i got had an adapter you had to put inside the gear on the dist. to mate with the tach cable.it was real small piece of metal.Not sure if mallory did the same thing or not.
