Default OT...Importing Body into Canada

I posted this in off topic but by the responces i got I thought I would try here. I'm looking at bringing a body shell home to use to build my '74. this would be "parts only" but I think I could put this body on and build the car with the rest of my parts.

the question I have is what do I have to do to bring this home? Canadaian Customs said they just want the bill of sale for calculating taxes. I was told that I have to contact US Customs, anyone done this? am I going in the right direction?

On parts, you are looking at PST and GST based on the bill of sale. You may wish to contact MOT in Toronto re eventually registering the car. They will have useful advice on what VIN should be used. I am not sure how you get a salvage car back on the road.

THanks Paul but the intent is to use the parts and not register it as a car. what I'm looking at is a stripped shell.

Hi , as far as i know you should only have to pat PST and the GST (gouge annd screw tax) ,it is classified as american made automotive there fore duty exempt. Dave :hurray:

I have sourced a number of parts from US boneyards. So it is simply shipping, PST and GST in your circumstances.
