Default Vortech supercharger for BB...impossible fit?

BB guys...please check this link.

http://www.vortechsuperchargers.com/...big_block.html

They say it will fit under the hood of a 66-72 Chevelle. Obviously the Vette hood, even an L88, has less room. So, what do you think?

Just by looking at the picture, I think the bonnet/carb enclosure will fit, but I am not sure about the blower and intake tubing which runs over the upper radiator hose. I'm afraid that is awfully far out in front and will have clearance problems with any hood. ???

I have run Vortech blowers on several vehicles for over 11 years. It is a phenomenal product, with good hardware, very good instructions, and unsurpassed reliability from my experience. The YS-trim blower that comes with this kit is more than I would even need.

With my 8.75:1 CR Gen VI motor, 5-6psi would be no problem, and make crazy HP/TQ.

Thanks for any insight. I'm pretty skeptical at the moment, and just dreaming a bit.

Nothing is impossible....
Thanks for the encouragement.

I don't have problems diving into motor work, and I've installed a number of these blowers on different EFI applications... but, I am not the best fabricator in the world, and don't want to spend an arm/leg for a number of custom brackets. I know that could end up being very $$$$.

Yes, I should have added that point. Nothing is impossible with enough time & money. A few people have gone turbo on this forum, you may want to consider that. A single Vortech shouldn't be too much trouble - but like you said, it may require some fancy fabrication. Let's see who else pipes up...

I have considered the turbo route, but that will certainly require more fabrication, not to mention scrapping my new sidemount headers.

I have also considered a simple single roots type blower, but I also figure it will be sticking out of the hood. I know yours is a twin-blower setup. Would a single Holley roots blower create a problem (if you know)? I figure the snout of the blower would create hood interference, which is another reason I was looking into the centrifugally blown Vortech setup.
