Default NEW ELECTRIC FAN COOLING PROBLEMS NEED HELP FAST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I put in a perma cool 2950 CFM fan last night and set the thermostat to around 195 and the fan wont keep it below 210 after that when you start driving. I thought that it would cool a stock 350. Also the fan runs forever afterward and I am worried it is going to kill my battery. What do I do????????? Put in a second fan?? I have no room to put in a pusher fan. It also is only about 70 degrees outside whqat is going to happen when it is 100 with the a/c on??? :mad :cry :cry

How's your thermostat? It could be sick or the wrong size (too high). I would guess a 180 would be a good choice.

is the fan wired to be turning the correct direction?
How is the radiator it's self ?

That fan should be more than enough to cool a stock 350 while running at idle in 70 degree temp.

Do you have any sort of shroud around the fan? Is it turning the correct way? Are the fan blades oriented the correct way?

:withstupid: Fan should be enough, make sure you wired it correctly so that the fan is pulling air and not pushing. Maybe you have a bad temp sensor?

Here comes the dangerousa suggestion:
Place your hand on the top and the bottom of the radiator with the engine hot and engine as wellas fan running. If the bottom feels considerably colder than the top, your fan definitely works. Then it has to be tha sts r the pump. If you don't feell a difference..... don't know.

good luck :steering:
